    The Stranger at the Bar

A beautiful women approached me at a bar and asked me what I do for a living. I told her I tokenmaxx whenever I pull up the the office function and she chuckled, the way someone chuckles when they want to fit in. I took out my phone to look at the weather and she said she needed to use the restroom. I never saw her again.

    Physical Therapy

I tore my left ACL and meniscus a few months prior and have just started PT. My physical therapist is helping me "regain my range of motion" and as she pushed my knee past 90 degrees, she asked me to describe my pain on a scale of one to ten. I told her it was a ten because data centers are bad for clean water. I shed a tear, my knees were alright though, just a little tight.

    The beating of the heart

If my younger years have taught me anything, It’s that the heart has four chambers. Four unique corners with four distinct roles. All with one grand purpose of keeping the heart beating. If I have learned anything, It’s the chant of the four chambers. Right ventricle, left ventricle, right atrium, left atrium. A rhythmic chant which soothes yet breaks apart, like the heart, as it continues beating. If I have remembered anything, It’s that the heart is a very fragile structure composed of chambers. In, out, lungs, in, out, body. Fragile, yet dynamic, the heart continues beating. If my older years are teaching me anything, It’s that the heart is a very fragile structure. In your life comes a person you love, out comes all the negative thoughts of the world. In comes a stronger, more passionate love. Out comes all of your emotions. And the heart continues beating. And beating. If I am learning anything, It’s the chant of the heart. The lullaby of love sings a song louder than the flutter of the butterflies. A rhythmic chant which pulls the heart apart and puts it back together stronger. And to the rhythm of love, the heart continues beating. And beating. If I will remember anything, It’s that the heart has four chambers. Four chambers to encage the outpour from heartbreak. All with one grand job of keeping the heart beating. And to endure the battering and beating, The heart continues beating.

    Glass | Mirror

A young romantic, Childlike in love, Lacking hesitance, Eager to fall quick And never to leave, Ready since first glance… Gazing, with heart eyes Laid all over her, As she descends a Stairwell, he, with a Soft heart, embraces. –––––––––––––––––– How lucky I am to feel such love, A beautiful feeling to be cared for, Zealous for more fond attention, I Yearn for more, she thinks to herself. Maybe it’s a lingering feeling– Indulging in all that was offered– Remorse for the young romantic grows. Reigning above the cost of a heart Of such fragility and love, the Rewards of being loved makes her stay, A young beloved.

    Under the flickering streetlamp

Unbounded is one way to describe the canvas of stars– Next to one another, thousands of luminescent stars dress in a dreamy glow, Dancing with the other and giving the canvas light and giving the canvas meaning. Embedded in the cold and brutal darkness is one way to describe the stars, Radiating together to light up the disheartening dark is another. The stars from the canvas danced and danced endlessly together, Hereby creating a beautiful intimacy as they Experienced and endured the darkness together. Faint, dim, and fragile–a light flickered. Lonely and weak, this light, it flickered, all by itself, in an empty lot. It quivered, and, it trembled, Creating shadows, darkness, all trying to Kill the lonely streetlamp. Embedded in the cold and brutal darkness is one way to describe the streetlamp. Radiating alone and all disheartened is another. It quivered, and, it trembled, like a fallen star, Nowhere near its lover, as if it fell, from the heavens, to the Ground, all alone, frail, and without its partner. Staring up at the stars gave the streetlamp no solace. Thousands and thousands of stars danced together that night. Restlessly, these stars lit the dark canvas up, lifting Each other’s spirit as they knew they were not alone. Enduring the cold dark night was easier with each other’s warmth. The streetlamp just stared at the sky above him, Lying on the ground as if he has fallen out of this canvas of the graceful heavens, And fallen out of love. My love, I am that streetlamp all alone on that abandoned lot, Painfully falling out of love as you abandon me to face this cold and disheartened world alone.

Winter winds and the sifting ashes

Why did I let her go? In the cold bench he sits with himself, Nervously fiddling his fingers, Tearing his mind apart, piece by piece, Ever so steadfast in his attempt to recover what was taken. Reminding himself of why. Whispers from the crisp winter winds brush against the back of his neck. In his shaky hand lies a cigarette, Never to have kissed his cracking lips, Dying as the winter winds blow to uncover its frail ashes. Supple to the touch, the sifting ashes slowly cascade to the cold hard ground. And then he tries to think, Not of what happened, Definitely not of what had happened. The ashes continue to build up and Hostile winds continue to blow and Everything–the flow of time, the stream of memories–seemed to shatter. She was there, In a red dress with such a bold flair, Flaunting exuberance, Tingling with radiance, Itching to leave, Not knowing that it was the bitter eve. Going, gone. And he wishes he could have hugged her for a minute longer, Seconds more for another goodbye kiss, How he wishes how he should have stared into her eyes for a moment more, Ever so little, any difference could have saved her from that accident. She’s gone now and he now sits by himself as he crumbles like sifting ashes in the winter winds.

    The Sunflower in the Field

The Sun shined a spectacular and sacred light, Unleashing unceasing and unbeatable light upon those under its wings. No matter how often the naughty and nasty night nagged, For us, the fabulous floating figure fought and flew above the frightful and forsaken darkness. Lending love, Overcoming obstacles, Wholeheartedly warming all with woe, all with weariness, and all who is watered down, Ever so eagerly and earnestly embracing, Reigning above the roaring rain, such a rare sight of something as resolute as the radiant sun. In a field lies a sacred sunflower, Nature’s brightest gift, second to the sacred sun. The sunflower in the field was alone. Hole in the ground, seed planted, roots grounded, stuck. It felt hopeless, and it felt alone. Emptiness surrounded it, and it felt alone. For the sunflower is like the sun, In its own world, all alone. Everyday, emptiness it feels, yet the sunflower must go on like the sun, Lending love and overcoming obstacles, as maybe one day, just one Day, the sunflower will make someone strolling by smile, just as the beaming sun makes the sitting sunflower smile.

    Dancing with my Heart

Dancing with you in the dark, oh, my darling of such a lonely night, what a bright Angel you are, lighting up my heart tonight, giving it such great, grand delight. No one else but you, my lovely lady, oh so fine and oh, so divine, Can fill my heart’s loneliness with only your soft and benign hands in mine. I pull you in close and oh, my glistening treasure you smile, while No one dared to look away from this fragile sight, so worthwhile. Gracefully you twirl as I raise my hand up, oh what grand Winds from you that demand praise while tears streamed, unplanned. In the moments before the end, I comprehend, That all the love I can lend is yours to spend. Here the soft song ends my dearest sweetheart, My heart danced its last with you, apart. You danced in a new man’s arms. Hard to bear such a heart break Ever with me as strong pangs Ache since true love roots Raw grief, yet still, Time heals nothing as love persists to unfurl sorrow in new ways tomorrow.

    My Dear, Farewell

My dearest darling, for you I write this– Your alluring charm and grand elegance, Dazzling grace that I cannot dismiss, Enamoured since the very first instance. As you leave, with your tears and shattered heart, Raindrops fall from the gloomy clouds that loom. Flowers wilt as we grow further apart, Alone I stand, with a permanent wound. Raging, raving thunders that I unleashed, Excited with downpours of emotions, Wishing now for the dark clouds to perish, Engulfed with remorse, I sit with my demons. Loving you is far too soft of a phrase. Love kindles pain in many untold ways.
